I was just looking through the American Environmental Literacy reports.
Interesting, but also scary. Apparently, 45 million Americans believe that the ocean is a source of freshwater. Check it out: http://www.neefusa.org/pdf/ELR2005.pdf
This report, and lots of others, are put together by the National Environmental Education Training Foundation. (http://www.neefusa.org/resources/publications.htm#neetfpubs)

Most of Saudi Arabia gets their drinking water from the Ocean. Maybe thats where that comes from.
ReplyDeleteHoly moly, that gender gap is enormously disappointing. As is the idea that "Although women consistently register higher support for the environment over the economy, and more support for additional environmental regulation, when it comes to environmental knowledge this 'gender gap' is reversed."
ReplyDeletePAH!
